Kuwentong Bayan: noong Panahon ng Hapon (Everyday Life in a Time of War)

Kintanar, Thelma B. - Personal Name; Camagay, Ma. Luisa - Personal Name;

Based on personal narratives and interviews, this volume is devoted to documenting and analyzing everyday life during the Japanese occupation.

The first half, based on narratives submitted, attempts to record and classify according to themes, experiences and memories pertaining to food, transportation, health, leisure and other topics. The second part publishes the transcripts of interviews with several Filipinos of different professions and walks of life in Bulacan and Pampanga (these are in Filipino).

The third part of the book prints several first person Filipino accounts of the war.

Not strictly speaking a historical study, the book attempts to show how people remembered the war.

A City That Reads Libraries

The A City That Reads Libraries is maintained by the EX LIBRIS Library Volunteers, a community of advocates for books, libraries, and literacy based in the City of Malolos, Bulacan PH. We dream of a city where reading is a culture, and the citizenry is informed; where books are readily available, and there are libraries which are open and free for all. Our battle cry, “towards a city that reads!”Our motto, “Ex Libris, Libertas! From books, freedom!”
