| Haw flakes were once used as ostia by kids from Generation X and Millennials in the 1990s, or also called Batang 90's, whenever they pretended to reenact the scene from church communion. Despite the only thing they had in common which was their shape, it was something we observed with family and community on Sundays, especially in a christian country like the Philippines and in our province where religion is a vital part of our history and identity. Although batang 90's misses these moments of childhood, Aparon is here to heal their inner child and let them feel the nostalgia, minus the ostia shape.

| Aparon is a sweet snack that originated from Malolos, Bulacan. This came from ostia trimmings drizzled with caramel. These leftover wafers are safe to eat, whatever your religion and belief is because these are not yet blessed by the priest. The company that manufactures Aparon is called Malonzo Food Products from Bulacan. If you haven't figured it out yet, the pleasant and simple plot of Aparon starts with Malonzo Food Products, a sizable producer of ostia and concludes with them having discovered a delightful and creative way to repurpose unused wafers by drizzling them with caramel. This snack's name isn't derived from someone or anything related to the Bible, which is an additional intriguing fact. Aparon came from, "Ron" a chicharon-derived term and "Apa" implies sweet.
