In the Church of Panasahan there a small statue of San Jose can be found. San Jose is known as the Patron Saint of Barangay Panasahan, many people in the area recognize the statue because it presents miracles and people believe it to be true. One of the miracles of the people of Barangay Panasahan is that the statue has the ability to heal the sick. Because of these ‘miracles’ the statue earned its title of Patron Saint of Barangay Panasahan.

Many elders say they have witnessed the Patron Saint travel to the vast lands of Malolos, Bulacan.

“The patron Saint Joseph wears a long green robe and a yellow cloak.”

One day while a farmer was doing his work on the field, he saw a strange figure in the midst of the field in Barangay Balayong who looked like the image of San Jose. Even though the farmer thought it was unusual that the statue was in the middle of his field, he did not approach it because it was far off into the lands of his farm.

The next day many people hurried to the image of San Jose in the church of Panasahan because many noticed that there were suddenly pieces of grass, leaves and even straws of wheat hanging from the hem of it’s clothes. The people wondered where it all came from, this statue was never taken out of its place here in the chapel.

Then the farmer decided to tell the story of his encounter with the statue the other day at his farm. And that is how the story of Patron Saint of Barangay Panasahan came to be.

Till this day many people tell the story of the statue of San Jose at a church in Barangay Panasahan, and that this statue travels the lands of Malolo, Bulacan. With the statue being able to leave its place to another everyone thought this was a miracle, and that other miracles came with it.
