"Si P. Rafael Canlapan ay isang tunay na makabayan. Naging koadhutor sa parokya ng Malulos mula noong 1874 hanggang 1892, naging katulong sa pagpapalaganap ng mga aral ni Plaridel at inilipat sa Imus, Kabite, noong 1892 dahil sa pagiging kalaban ng mga Kastila."[1]
